Progetto Uomo Rishilpi International Onlus supports the development of Rishis, outcastes, and marginalized people in Bangladesh through development cooperation programs. Rishilpi has been operating in Bangladesh since 1977 for health, education, income generation, prevention of child marriage and women’s empowerment. There are two categories of volunteers: long-term volunteers (over 3 months), who often come to work in the chosen profession, eg. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Educator, Assistive Device Specialist, and many other fields. Short-term volunteers (under 3/6 months) collaborate according to their skills and attitude in any department of Rishilpi. Usually, a volunteer will have special interests or skills that lead him to work in a specific area. However, the need to be flexible and use your own initiative is very important.

How many volunteers could you host? ๐
Up to 5 volunteers in the same period
When would you need volunteers? ๐
All year long, but we always suggest the period of the dry season from September to March for the involvement of a new volunteer so that they can taste their experience at a time when the weather is also quite pleasant. The ideal stay for a volunteer is a minimum of 15-20 days up to a maximum of 60 days.

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations ๐
Volunteers work according to their skills and aptitudes in any department in Rishilpi. Usually, a volunteer will have special interests or skills that lead them to work in a specific area, especially in the fields of health (including interaction with people with disabilities) and education. The activities of the volunteers of about 5 hours per day are aimed at supporting the work of the permanent staff, e.g. they will be involved in the management of daily activities and small maintenance work. At the school and kindergarten, they are expected to participate in educational and/or play activities involving the children. At the health centre, volunteers will mainly be involved in following our young patients in their daily activities, proposing and organizing games and supporting them in their studies.

Yes, we can give full support to obtain visas on Italian passports at the Milan general consulate /for other types of passports, we can provide invitation letters needed to obtain a visa to Bangladesh from the respective Country of origin.

By aeroplane to Dhaka. We assist you to find the right flights and connections. Then, from the local Airport, we will pick you up with our microbus and accompany you up to our project base in Satkhira
