Some of these opportunities are free (you receive free food and accommodation in exchange for voluntary work). Others require a daily/monthly contribution fee for food and accommodation. Remember that many areas in Bangladesh are still developing and volunteering can’t always be a ‘free’ thing.

If you want to have an “impact” but you only have a few weeks to do volunteering abroad, then we recommend you choose the non-free opportunities: you will contribute to the local community not only with your skills but also with your money, especially if you can only volunteer for a short period; this is usually better than paying for a “hotel” or a touristic village owned by foreign agencies.
