Philippines 🇵🇭
Explore volunteering opportunities in the Philippines, including marine conservation, environmental projects, community initiatives, education, non-profit organisations and other independent or structured volunteering experiences.
Projects may be located across different islands and regions of the Philippines. Some listings are seasonal, archival or no longer active, so always check the publication date and confirm the exact location and current availability directly with the host or organisation.
How to use this page
Open the opportunity that interests you and read the complete announcement. Look for the contact details at the end of the listing to find the organisation’s website, email address or application procedure.
Before accepting an opportunity, confirm the activities, weekly hours, supervision, accommodation, meals, minimum stay and any fees or contributions directly with the host. If money is requested, ask what the contribution covers before making a payment.
Voluntouring does not organise placements, collect programme fees, select volunteers, arrange visas or mediate between volunteers and hosts. Older announcements may remain online for archival and informational purposes.
Visas and volunteering in the Philippines
Entry and immigration requirements depend on your nationality, length of stay and the type of volunteering involved. Do not assume that normal tourist entry automatically covers an organised volunteer placement or an unpaid work exchange.
The Philippines has an official framework for international volunteering coordinated by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA). Foreign volunteers approved through registered volunteer organisations may qualify for specific immigration arrangements, including the 47(a)(2) visa.
This formal system does not automatically apply to every independent farm, hostel, retreat or hospitality exchange. Ask the host which immigration arrangement applies to your activities and, for organised international volunteering, consult the official PNVSCA information for volunteers.
Current travel considerations
Safety conditions differ considerably between islands and regions. Current travel advice warns against travel to parts of Mindanao and the Sulu Archipelago because of armed conflict, terrorism and kidnapping risks.
Always check the exact location of a project, particularly if it is in Mindanao, and consult current travel advice for the Philippines before departure.
