Some opportunities may be fair exchanges with no mandatory participant fee, while others may request a contribution or programme fee. If payment is required, ask for the exact amount, what it covers and the applicable payment, cancellation and refund conditions before making a commitment.
Projects involving children, healthcare or vulnerable people should have appropriate safeguarding procedures, supervision and clear role boundaries. Make sure the proposed activities match your experience and qualifications.

Visas and volunteering in Egypt
Entry requirements depend on your nationality, length of stay and planned activities. Egypt operates an official electronic visa system for eligible nationalities, but a tourism visa should not automatically be assumed to permit every type of volunteering, teaching, employment or work exchange.
Check current requirements through the official Egypt e-Visa portal. If the placement involves regular duties for an organisation or business, ask the host which immigration or work authorisation applies and verify this independently before travelling.
Current travel considerations
Security conditions vary considerably by region. Current travel advice includes restrictions for North Sinai, areas close to the Libya border and some other desert and border regions.
If a project is located in Sinai, a desert area or near an international border, confirm its exact location and consult current travel advice for Egypt before departure.
