Before accepting an opportunity, confirm the expected activities, weekly hours, days off, accommodation, meals, exact location, transport arrangements and any fees or contributions directly with the host or organisation.
Some projects may provide accommodation, meals or other forms of hospitality in exchange for a limited number of hours of help. Other projects may have different arrangements. Always confirm exactly what is included before making a commitment.
Voluntouring does not organise placements, select volunteers or mediate between volunteers and hosts. Older announcements may remain online for archival and informational purposes.
European Solidarity Corps and pocket money
Some structured volunteering programmes may provide accommodation, food, insurance, travel support or pocket money, depending on the specific project and eligibility conditions.
Older listings may still refer to the European Voluntary Service (EVS), the former EU volunteering programme that preceded the European Solidarity Corps.
Visas and volunteering in Denmark
Entry, residence and volunteering requirements depend on your nationality, length of stay and the nature of the activities. Do not assume that visa-free or tourist entry automatically permits every type of volunteering or work exchange.
Denmark has a specific residence and work permit for certain non-EU volunteers undertaking unpaid activities of a social or humanitarian character. This permit has its own eligibility requirements and does not automatically apply to every informal work exchange or hospitality arrangement.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens are subject to different residence rules. Travellers from other countries should check which requirements apply to their particular project before making arrangements.

Insurance and practical arrangements
Make sure your insurance covers the activities involved in the project. Farming, construction, animal care, outdoor work and other practical activities may not automatically be covered by every standard travel policy.
If a host requests a contribution or deposit, ask for the exact amount, what it covers and whether it is refundable before making any payment.
