How do Ghana’s rainy seasons vary? 🌦️

Southern Ghana generally has two rainy seasons, while the north has one. Timing varies locally and between years. For farming or rural placements, ask how seasonal rainfall affects tasks, transport and access to the project.

Visas, health and travel considerations

Requirements depend on nationality, duration and activities. Confirm the appropriate visa, host documentation and any additional permits with your Ghanaian embassy or the Ghana Immigration Service. Do not assume tourist entry covers volunteering.

Check yellow fever vaccination requirements, insurance and current travel advice for Ghana. The UK government advises against all but essential travel to Bawku Municipality in the Upper East Region.
