This page explains Voluntouring.org’s current policy on under-18 volunteering and work exchangesA work exchange is an arrangement in which a traveller contributes an agreed amount of help to a host in return for benefits such as accommodation, meals or learning opportunities. Conditions vary by host.. Since 27 January 2026, opportunities published on Voluntouring.org are intended only for adults aged 18 or over.

Voluntouring.org does not publish or promote new volunteering or work exchange placements that accept participants under the age of 18. Older listings may still appear in the archive below, but they should not be interpreted as current under-18 opportunities.
Why Voluntouring.org is 18+
Volunteering involving minors requires particular attention to safeguarding, parental consent, supervision, legal responsibility and appropriate organisational procedures. These conditions can vary considerably between countries and programmes and cannot be adequately assessed through an open international listing platform.
For this reason, Voluntouring.org now limits the opportunities it publishes to participants aged 18 or over.

Some posts below were originally published when Voluntouring.org accepted listings with different minimum-age requirements. Information about age limits in these older announcements may therefore be outdated and should not be relied upon.

New opportunities submitted to Voluntouring.org must be intended for volunteers aged 18 or over. Projects specifically recruiting participants under 18 cannot be published through our host form.
