Volunteer in the Mexican Jungle: a cultural exchange with CASA Corteza

This week, the hosts at CASA Corteza shared a heartfelt invitation in the Voluntouring FBgroup, calling on people interested in volunteering with accommodation in Mexico to join them in their jungle retreat project in Veracruz.

Are you craving a change of scenery, a reconnection with nature, and a deeper purpose in your travels? CASA Corteza, a cozy and eco-conscious lodging nestled in Punta Roca Partida, Veracruz (Mexico), is calling for people interested in volunteering with accommodation in Mexico – those eager to lend a hand and experience life off the beaten path.

The project is seeking help from short-term (minimum 3 weeks) and long-term volunteers (over 2 months). Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks, including maintenance, light construction, cabin upkeep between guests, and working with local crafts. The work is hands-on, diverse, and suited for people who like to learn by doing.

In exchange for your time (5 hours/day, 5 days/week), CASA Corteza offers accommodation in a tent under a sheltered area, complete with a comfortable mattress, shared bathrooms, and access to a community kitchen. You’ll also receive two meals a day (breakfast and lunch), and enjoy two full days off each week to explore or rest. It’s a great option for anyone looking for volunteering with accommodation in Mexico.

The location is remote and magical.

Surrounded by rivers, waterfalls, beaches, and forest, it’s ideal for anyone wishing to disconnect from the digital world (there’s no phone signal) and reconnect with something simpler and more grounded. Wi-Fi is available, but only works with local data cards.

The team is looking for flexible, motivated, and respectful people who are open to community living and excited about learning new skills. Whether you’re interested in eco-construction, artisanal work, or simply want to immerse yourself in nature, this could be the meaningful travel experience you’re searching for.
