Dream Africa Child Support Centre, in Ho, Ghana is established to promote the welfare of the vulnerable in society especially women and children; and to encourage them to participate in processes that enhance their equality, self-reliance and long term sustainable development. We focus on child education and protection, women empowerment, computer literacy, rural healthcare and cultural exchange.
Important: fees and childcare volunteering
This program works with very vulnerable children (including children from poor families, teenage mothers and street-connected children) and charges a daily volunteer fee of 15 euros to cover food, accommodation and support for the centre. It is not a free work exchange. Before joining, ask clearly about safeguarding policies, who the local professional staff are, minimum stay, background checks and how decisions about the children are made. Responsible childcare volunteering should always be led by local professionals and avoid very short stays focused only on tourism.

General info
Our Child Support Center seeks to promote child rights protection and education. Through this program, we aim to provide support to children in the area of healthcare and education. The centre is primarily for children from poor families, and teenage mothers who cannot take care of them due to hardship. The children are mostly made up of orphans and street children. The centre keeps the children safe and off the streets during the day, as well as giving the children a chance to develop early social skills. Also, the centre provides the child with meals and basic education during the day. We are looking for volunteers to teach English and caregiving at the centre.
You could use nursery rhymes, games or other activities to engage the children and keep them occupied and interested in learning. Volunteers will be required to feed the children during lunchtime in the afternoon and organize games or teach songs.
