What is singing? 🎤🎶
Singing is the production of musical sounds using the human voice. It can be practised individually or in groups, with or without instrumental accompaniment. Singing takes many forms, including choral music, traditional songs, contemporary vocal performances and informal community gatherings. It is also used in education and cultural activities.
Singing and cultural exchange
Depending on the project, volunteers may teach singing, participate in vocal workshops, perform at community events, share traditional songs or help organise musical activities.
Some hosts also welcome singers to contribute to everyday community life through regular music sessions. If singing is important to you, ask whether these activities are organised regularly, who leads them and whether previous experience is required.
