Some of these opportunities are free (you receive free food and accommodation in exchange for voluntary work). Other volunteer programs might require a daily/monthly contribution fee for the food and accommodation. Remember that many organizations & animal shelters might not have enough finances to support the volunteers.

If you want to have an “impact” but you only have a few weeks to do volunteering abroad, then we recommend you to choose the non-free opportunities, especially if you can only volunteer for a short period.
