Volunteer exchange in Trieste โ€“ Hello everyone, my name is Massimo, I’m about to leave again after the winter cold with the second year of my project. The first year was great with the volunteer kids helping me. Someone stayed for a few days, someone for weeks and someone for months. we spent so many beautiful moments together, a magical experience to be repeated for sure, thanks to all!

A few words about me

I work as an employee for a supermarket 50 km from Trieste and I am also an Agricultural Entrepreneur, but at the moment I don’t have this great opportunity due to lack of time. I have a farm of 3,000 square meters which I cultivate as a vegetable garden, vineyard and olive grove together with my father and my friends in my spare time. I recently bought another 2,000 m2 that needs to be rearranged as some dry stone walls have fallen and I have to fence them off. The land has been completely cleared of dense vegetation as it had been abandoned for more than 30 years and I would like to put it back into production as a vineyard and olive grove. All in all, there are 5,000 m2 of pure nature in tranquillity.

I grow olives to make oil, grapes for wine, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, potatoes, tomatoes and anything else that can be grown in the garden. I am always on the lookout for strange and little-known plants and seeds. I have many beautiful roses and am very jealous of my garden. I used to make honey but right now I’ve stopped because I’m looking for help because I can’t manage my hives anymore (I had 30 hives with about 900,000 bees and all my bees had a name haha).

If you have any questions, I’m at your complete disposal.

I would like to host someone who can help me with:
  • rearrange the dry stone walls
  • move the earth with wheelbarrows to make the ground homogeneous
  • clear the ground of small stones
  • build a greenhouse for orange and lemon trees
  • I build paths with pergolas for my grapes, kiwis, roses, and wisteria.
  • cut trees and clean the grass
  • prune roses and trees
  • work in the garden in the midst of the scents of flowers and fruits
  • build a chicken coop
  • repair and build new plumbing
  • help in the house where I live with 3 parrots
  • ย if you like, participate in the market every third Sunday of the month in the beautiful Trieste square
  • live with me and my volunteers and in the evening all together to enjoy the sunset on the Molo Audace on the sea with a good glass of wine.

… all with maximum relaxation without timetables, you decide how to manage your time

  2. Hello, I would love to volunteer with you. I am calm open minded and am very creative. I’m a qualified naturopathic health coach and I love to cook too. I’m not a chef, but would love to learn more on how to cook healthy Italian foods. I can also help in your garden.
I hope to hear from you
