A nice volunteer community in Slovenia

Would you like to explore Slovenia while contributing to meaningful community work in a natural and welcoming environment? The Social Intercultural Community Farm Narava is offering opportunities this summer for volunteers, families, and small groups to join their activities supporting children, schools, and underprivileged families.

This non-profit initiative, based in Slovenia, has been active since 2003 and is part of the broader EU Foundation network.

Their mission is to promote social inclusion, intercultural exchange, and positive development through community projects. Their programs support families and youth, both with and without disabilities, and include nature-based education, workshops, therapy with animals, and self-development.

This year, they will create a mini petting zoo for children and open a summer community centre on a voluntary basis. Volunteers will help with tasks related to nature walks, farm life, campfire evenings, group activities, and assistance for local schools and children.

Participants can stay in tents or modest accommodations. Single parents with children are especially welcome, as are individuals interested in helping others, learning, and growing in a respectful, inclusive setting.

Fundacija-Narava is a non-profit Social Intercultural Community Farm dedicated to fostering cultural exchange, social inclusion, and community development through nature-based programs and volunteer engagement. Operating since 2003 and re-established in Slovenia in 2018, the foundation offers a variety of initiatives aimed at supporting individuals and families, including those with disabilities or facing social challenges.

Their programs encompass intercultural exchanges, youth reintegration, social family care, and support for women and children in need. Activities at the farm include therapy with animals, self-defence workshops, community food days, and various educational and recreational events. This year during this period and summer we will create a mini petting zoo that will be later on the summer opened on a voluntary basis to the community and children with disabilities. In addition, we will do all kinds of things around nature, help local schools and of course fun workshops, communal cooking, nature walks and campfire evenings.

The Social Intercultural Community Farm Narava (EU Foundation), has positive social and intercultural exchange programs with host farms and partners to help others, wide options for scouts and youth groups on low budget included food arrangements, social care support for individuals, single parents, families and youth clients with and without disabilities, supportive professionals, women’s shelter & support, self-defence, therapy with animals for children, community food days and activities. Above all, we work on a non-profit basis and from our hearts. A better world and future for all of us starts with ourselves in life and with each other.

We are operating since 2003 in Europe and extended in 2018 back to our roots with a new foundation in Slovenia. Each year we make new projects, support the community or those in need in collaboration. We also offer underprivileged families and single parents with children a good time and give them the opportunities to develop themselves and have a good time in Slovenia and surroundings without incurring the high costs that are often simply not feasible for them.

We are dedicated to fostering positive social and intercultural exchange through partnerships with host farms and community-focused programs. Our initiatives include social care support for families and individuals of all abilities, professional guidance, women’s shelters, self-defence workshops, animal-assisted therapy for children, and vibrant community food events.

In 2018, when we proudly returned to our roots by establishing a new foundation in Slovenia. Every year, we introduce fresh projects to support the community and those in need, collaborating with volunteers and sponsors. Our activities are complemented by sustainable low-budget ventures such as a B&B, property rentals, and a Community Food Kiosk.

We operate with a heart for inclusivity and diversity, offering services and communication in Slovene, English, German, Dutch, and Spanish.
