Recently on our Voluntouring Facebook Group, the coordinators of an eco-project in Canada shared a new opportunity for those who want to spend time outdoors and support a lifestyle based on simplicity and sustainability. Utopia Feels Botanical Glampground and Micro-Farm, located in British Columbia’s North Okanagan, is looking for 2–3 volunteers to join their seasonal team. The project blends hands-on farming, creative living spaces, and a strong sense of community.

The location is about 45 minutes from Kelowna Airport and close to Kalamalka Lake. The 20-acre farm is surrounded by orchards, wineries, mountains, and freshwater lakes.

It’s a place to slow down, get involved, and learn by doing.

Volunteers can choose between:

• 20 hours/week in exchange for accommodation and 2 meals per day
• 30 hours/week for accommodation and 3 meals per day

Perks include access to laundry, a shared lounge with entertainment, a large fire pit, and plenty of open space to relax after a day of work.

The type of help needed:

• Setting up and maintaining vertical aeroponic systems
• Tent setup and maintenance
• Gardening, spring cleaning, and general upkeep
• Caring for animals

Another option is the “Work n’ Stay” program, designed for those travelling in their own RV, trailer, or tent. Volunteers can stay in their own setup and contribute a few hours of work daily in exchange for a camping spot on the property. The site does not currently offer power or sewer hookups, so it suits travellers who are already comfortable with off-grid living. The Coldstream valley setting makes it a peaceful base for those on the road.

The volunteering season runs from May through October. Each participant is responsible for arranging their own visa or entry documents for Canada.
