An interesting Eco-project in Nova Friburgo
MAARA is an eco-project based on the principles of permaculture. They work with and invite volunteers to participate in various sustainable and socio-environmental projects such as agroforestry, reforestation, organic and regenerative agriculture, eco-pedagogy, bioconstruction, and more. The organization is seeking volunteers who share the same sustainable awareness, bring their own ideas to put into practice, and contribute to making the world a better place. MAARA offers short-term volunteering (paid) for 3 days of work and 4 days free, as well as long-term volunteering (free) for at least 3 months and 5 days a week of farm activities. Volunteers live in an international community and share a modern and comfortable guesthouse while enjoying a friendly and welcoming environment. We are looking for volunteers who share the same sustainable awareness, bring their own ideas to put them into practice, learn and grow with us and contribute to making this world a better place.
You can participate in:
- short-term volunteering (paid) counting with 3 days of work and 4 days free;
- long-term volunteering (free) for at least 3 months and 5 days a week participating in farm activities.
Here you will live in an international community, share a modern and comfortable guesthouse, enjoy a friendly and welcoming environment, and reconnect with beautiful nature and with yourself.
About/Mission
Here at MAARA, we are dedicated to transforming a conventional farm into an ecological sanctuary.ย We, from the MAARA eco-project, are starting a free volunteer program for at least 3 months.
We offer modern and comfortable accommodation, living with international people, vegetarian food, and practical experience in agroforestry, organic agriculture, permaculture and sustainable living.
The volunteer work includes 40 hours per week, in diverse activities in the ecological adaptation of the site, including:
- Agroforestry maintenance and implementation;
- Building and planting a large vegetable and fruit garden, harvesting and maintenance
- Reforestation;
- Construction of composting systems;
- Participation in the construction of the natural swimming pool;
And many others!
We are looking for motivated people, interested in more ecological life, prepared for manual work and with positive energies and attitudes. We want a harmonious environment with an exchange of experiences and ideas for the growth of the project and also for our own personal growth.
