Krishna Valley is the largest and most organized eco-community in Hungary and even in Central Europe. It is a peaceful, spiritual island in the sea of everyday life, only thirty kilometers from Lake Balaton, near Kaposvár. On its 266 hectares, the site of a former sheepfold, it is home to diverse fauna and a variety of species. More than 950 species of trees and shrubs can be found in the Krishna Valley Botanical Garden, which in addition to education, allows for the conservation of wildlife and research into food crops. From the beginning, self-sustainability has worked as a guiding principle through collective work, social development, and traditional technologies.

Art village Obyrok was established in 2007 by Leonid Kanter and Diana Karpenko. Since then Obyrok has become a place for festivals, workshops, educational camps, and a place for retreats and relaxation. Obyrok has become a place for festivals (cinema, music, traditional culture), workshops (drum, circus, animation, herbs, folk songs, nature art), educational camps for children and teenagers, and a place for relaxation and meditation. For now, the Obyrok council decided to pay more attention to inner community-building work, ecological and social dimensions, sustainable practices, and cooperation with the local administrative community.
Obyrok also continues to develop as a place for creating art projects and permanent art residencies. It is located near the historic Hetman capital – town Baturyn, between a big forest and the Seym river.
