What is worldschooling? 🎒🗺️
Worldschooling is a broad term used by families who incorporate travel, places, people and real-world experiences into their children’s education. It can be combined with homeschooling, unschooling, online learning, structured curricula or other educational approaches. Worldschooling therefore describes how travel and the wider world become part of learning rather than a single fixed educational method.
Worldschooling and volunteering
Some opportunities involve worldschooling hubs, learning communities or travelling families looking for adults who can share appropriate skills, languages, arts, practical knowledge or other supervised activities. When children are involved, clarify the volunteer’s role, supervision and safeguarding arrangements. Helping with educational or creative activities does not automatically make a volunteer a teacher or childcare provider, and volunteers should not replace trained staff.
