About CIWY Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi
Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY) is a Bolivian non-profit organization founded in 1992, dedicated to wildlife conservation and the fight against illegal animal trafficking.
It manages three wildlife sanctuariesโMachรญa, Ambue Ari, and Jacj Cuisiโwhere rescued animals are given care, rehabilitation, and a more natural living environment. Volunteers help with tasks like feeding, caring for animals, and creating enrichment activities. CIWY also works with local and international authorities, runs environmental education programs, and promotes conservation values to support Bolivia’s biodiversity and foster respect for nature
Positions Available:
Sanctuary Administrator (Ambue Ari)
- Commitment: 13 months
- Responsibilities: Overseeing budgeting, storage, safety protocols, and attending community meetings.
- Benefits: Accommodation, three meals a day, two-week paid vacation, career development opportunities, and a multicultural work environment.
Howler Monkey Coordinator (Ambue Ari)
- Commitment: Flexible
- Responsibilities: Monitoring the rehabilitation of howler monkeys, training volunteers, ensuring safety, and updating care protocols.
- Benefits: Accommodation, three meals a day, stipend, training, and a close-knit team atmosphere.
Bird Coordinator (Sanctuary Machรญa)
- Commitment: 6 months
- Responsibilities: Monitoring birds, managing daily routines, training volunteers, and maintaining updated care files.
