Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi, a non-government organization dedicated to providing care and rescue services to wildlife, is currently seeking individuals with experience in the field of rescue centres and animal caregiving. The organization understands the challenges of living in the jungle and wants to make a big effort to support those who are passionate about helping animals.

Paid Volunteer Position (with Stipend)
Do you want to develop your professional skills in a multicultural, growth-oriented environment in the heart of the jungle while helping rescue wildlife?
Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi is a Bolivian NGO dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of wildlife rescued from illegal trafficking and other unlawful activities in Bolivia.

We are looking for passionate individuals to support us in caring for rescued wildlife and assisting with activities in our Sanctuaries ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฆœ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿฅ— We provide accommodation, meals, and a stipend.

  • Ambue Ari Sanctuary Administrator (13-month commitment / PAID POSITION)

Requirements:

  • Volunteer experience
  • Background in administration or related fields
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English (required)
  • Teamwork, adaptability, high organizational skills and good communication skills

“We are looking for people who are passionate about wildlife to work in the Amazon rainforest! ๐ŸŒฑ + VOLUNTEER POSITION – Meals and Accommodation covered for 6 1/2 months. Send your CV plus a cover letter (see the CONTACT DETAILS section below๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“ง๐Ÿ‘‡).

Responsibilities

The animal caretaker will work in one or several management areas, taking care of wild animals in our sanctuaries, under the supervision of the Area Coordinator or the Director. The role requires autonomy and organization to carry out the daily routine, which involves the welfare of animals (preparing food, cleaning, enrichment…) and all the tasks assigned by the Area Coordinator and the management of the Center.

Requirements
  • Commitment to the welfare of animals.
  • Willing to learn and get to know wild animals behaviour to give them the best possible care.
  • At least an intermediate level of both written and
  • spoken English and Spanish
  • Good physical condition
  • Be resilient to high temperatures and humidity, as well as mosquitos
About the organization

The organization began in 1992 and has been growing ever since. CIWY currently maintains three wildlife centres, where injured, abused or mistreated animals are cared for either temporarily or permanently. The organization has been featured in the New York Times and on the BBC and has the support of the Jane Goodall Institute and The Monkey Sanctuary. CIWY accepts volunteers from across the globe to help care for these animals, involving them in everyday activities such as

  • feeding,
  • cleaning
  • providing exercise.

In the past 15 years, more than 7,000 international volunteers have offered their help and support.

We don’t only need volunteers to work with animals but also for the smooth operation of the organization, whether it be through marketing, internship or helping with files, as well as helping with education programs.
