A project should not receive the tag simply because it works with tropical forests, reforestation or rainforest conservation somewhere else in the world.
Volunteering in the Amazon
Conditions vary considerably between projects. Locations may range from accessible towns to remote forest areas and communities, with different levels of transport, accommodation, internet access, healthcare and other services.
If conservation, wildlife research or work with Indigenous communities is involved, check the project’s methods, supervision and required experience. Respect local leadership, community rules, privacy and any restrictions concerning photographs, cultural knowledge or wildlife.
