Togean Conservation Foundation, in partnership with local resorts, is organising a Crown of Thorn’s cleanup of overpopulated reefs across the Togean Islands National Park in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia.

If you have a diving license and an interest in conservation, we welcome you to join us in October. Places are limited so get in touch fast to confirm your place if you would like to join us. You can volunteer for one, two or three weeks in up to three locations in Togeans (a week for each location).

Commitment

Your commitment is to dive twice each afternoon to collect the starfish and help with data collection, to pay for:

  • your own travel to and from the 3 locations,
  • National Park entrance fees,
  • and a contribution to project costs of IDR 700,000 per week (US $49/โ‚ฌ44 per week).

In return, you will receive 3 meals a day and shared accommodation in our partner resorts, dive equipment, 12 dives per week and training in Crown of Thorns collection. Health and travel insurance is your own responsibility to organise. Mornings will be free to enjoy as you wish, be it booking fun dives with your host dive centre, snorkelling trips, tours, trekking or relaxing or helping with beach cleanups. Dates are:

  • Week 2. 8th14th October 2019
