Ghana Exchange! – General info
Our non-profit organization, Ghana Exchange Volunteers Organization, is a registered grassroots organization that provides health and educational opportunities for less privileged children and communities located in Accra and Senya Beraku in Ghana.
We have been in operation since 2009 and have made a tremendous impact on our Healthcare project, Educational project and Medical Elective programs. However, we are in great need of support: that of volunteers! We are affiliated with hospitals, clinics, and schools in the community where we work.
What we offer to our volunteer guests:
- T-shirt
- Airport transfers

I stayed in Theresah’s home in Senya Beraku for 6 weeks whilst doing some Medical volunteering. Her family were very friendly and welcoming and I felt comfortable and at ease on arrival. Her house is nice and clean and it is in the ideal location – a short walk away from shops as well as the health centre where Theresah works and where I volunteered. Senya Beraku is a lovely village where I felt very safe, the locals are all friendly and helpful and I felt very comfortable to go out and explore on my own whenever I wanted.
The Medical volunteering itself was eye opening and interesting, Theresah also helped us set up a malaria outreach programme which us volunteers had fundraised for.
Theresah is a motivating character, she is independent and has a lot of good ideas. She is sociable and easy to talk to, and was always available to help us when we needed it.
Overall my volunteering experience was better than expected and I have fond memories of my time in Ghana.
All the best,
Aneesah
