Volunteer in Thailand with kids – Originally posted in our Facebook group, this opportunity comes from Richard K.H. of Koh Jum Kids, a grassroots education and community project on the peaceful Thai island of Koh Jum, near Krabi. The team is looking for volunteers to join their growing project between July and December 2025, supporting local children and helping out at their volunteer house.
This is more than a short teaching stint — it’s an invitation to live simply, share daily life with locals and other volunteers, and contribute to a long-term educational initiative.
About the experience
Volunteers at Koh Jum Kids help teach English, art, sports, and other fun subjects to children in the local school. Outside the classroom, they also support with cooking, gardening, and day-to-day life at the volunteer house. It’s hands-on, community-based work that’s both rewarding and relational — perfect for those who love working with kids and want to immerse themselves in local life.
You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, but being reliable, friendly, and open to learning goes a long way.
What’s included
In exchange for your help, you’ll receive:
- Free accommodation in simple shared dorms
- Local Thai meals at the volunteer house
- A peaceful island setting surrounded by nature and warm community vibes
- The chance to build friendships, grow your confidence, and contribute to something real
- Minimum stay is 3 to 4 weeks, and longer stays are welcome.

We’re thrilled to share that Koh Jum Kids, now entering our second year on this quiet, beautiful Thai island, has grown stronger and more impactful than ever. This month, we welcomed our first-ever Project Manager, and the energy and dedication he’s brought to our team have been truly inspiring.
But now—we need YOU!
If you:
- Love working with children and enjoy teaching English, art, music, sports, or helping at our volunteer house
- Want to experience living on Koh Jum, a peaceful paradise near Krabi, surrounded by nature and authentic Thai culture
