What’s the mission of your community?

We are building a community of like-minded cool, fun, intelligent people who want to be the change we want to see in this world. People from all walks of life and all colours and stripes. A non religious, egalitarian community working together to prosper together.

From our very first volunteers in the first summer of 2012, before we had power or running water to those that helped set up the house and make it livable, to those that this year helped grow the size of the gardens and refine the systems that we have been working hard to put into place. We know that not everything was always easy and some jobs not always enjoyable, but without your help, dedication, and commitment to us and our project we would not be where we are today.

General info

The Farm is a unique, permaculture, mountain property, varied in topography, and geology. There are hills and fields, plateaus and cliffs, a creek and springs, trees and wildlife. You will get what you put in. You will learn skills you never thought you might and will hopefully teach us something in return. you will make new friends and have fun days and nights, be they around a campfire, at work, on the beach, sailing on the lake, hiking or whatever you choose to do.

What are the volunteers’ benefits?

There are ways to earn some money on the property through guests as well as heaps to learn in a beautiful spot in the world. Between gardening, animal husbandry, tending a woodlot, milling, building, brewing, baking, cheesemaking, running workshops for guests, there is tons of opportunity. Spring, summer and fall and amazing times to hike and swim, explore waterfalls and forests. Winters are amazing for skiing.

What to do in the free time

Besides what I wrote above, there are really no limits. Art, reading, writing, music, sports, hikes, skiing, swimming, caving… whatever.

How to get to your place

How does one get anywhere? fly, drive, hitchhike…

The property is located only minutes north of Greenwood and only an hour from Osoyoos, 142 acres with Jewel Creek running through it with plenty of water which we have domestic and irrigation water rights to as well as at least one artesian spring. It has great sun exposure, good top soil and is big enough for several families to live on self sufficiently. It has crown land on 3 sides and trails all around. About 2 km to Jewel Lake; a pristine lake in a wilderness setting with a beautiful beach, swimming, fishing.
