What is Justice Tourism?
Justice tourism is a section on Voluntouring where you can find hostingย organizationsย willing to accommodate you in exchange for a monetary contribution/donation agreement.
Instead of staying at a hotel or a tourist village, you will get hosted by an NGO, a Charity or an ECO community.
The hosts featured on this page can offer accommodation to Eco-tourists, paying guests and Responsible travellers.
This means you won’t have to volunteer or work to stay at a community or NGO.
Justice tourism is driven by the desire for tourism experiences in line with the principles of social justice and solidarity. This growing awareness of social justice issues is the result of the combination of the constant global interconnectedness, a renewed sense of global citizenship and increasing moral development. Solidarity tourism emphasizes a strong focus on environmental issues, economic imbalances and social injustices.
From the wiki page:
Justice tourismย orย Solidarity tourismย is an ethic for travelling that holds as its central goals the creation of economic opportunities for the local community, positive cultural exchange between guest and host through one-on-one interaction, the protection of the environment, and political/historical education. It also seeks to develop new approaches to and forms of globalization,ย [1][2]ย and may overlap with revolutionary tourism.[3][4]
