What is feminism? ♀️
Feminism is a broad term covering different movements, ideas and approaches concerned with women’s rights, gender-based inequalities and the social, cultural, economic and political dimensions of gender. There is no single feminist tradition or agreed position on every issue, and feminist organisations can differ considerably in their priorities, methods and understanding of gender and equality.
What feminist volunteering can involve
Depending on the organisation, volunteers may support awareness campaigns, women’s rights education, research, communications, events, fundraising, community outreach, cultural projects or advocacy. Some feminist organisations also provide services related to gender-based violence, discrimination or other sensitive issues.
Where projects work directly with survivors of violence or other vulnerable people, ask about safeguarding, confidentiality, supervision and role boundaries. Counselling, legal support, healthcare and specialist casework should remain with appropriately qualified people.

Check the publication date, current activities, required experience, supervision, weekly hours and any practical or financial conditions before applying.
