Why are some hosts’ contact details hidden?

At Voluntouring.org, we take the privacy and safety of our hosts and volunteers seriously. That’s why, in certain cases, we choose not to display a host’s direct contact information publicly.

🔒 Why does this happen?

There are two main reasons:

1. At the host’s request

Some hosts prefer to remain anonymous until they receive a message from a volunteer who matches their needs or values. This helps them manage their time and avoid spam or unrelated inquiries.

2. For safety and moderation purposes

As a precautionary measure, In certain cases, we choose to limit visibility ourselves. This may apply to hosts located in regions that tend to receive a high number of inquiries not aligned with the spirit of volunteering, requests driven more by the search for an easy route abroad than a genuine desire to help.

Our goal is not to discriminate but to ensure that genuine connections happen based on shared values, not just logistics.

✉️ How can I contact a host?

If you’re interested in a project:

• Follow the instructions in the “Contact Details” section of the opportunity post.
• Or leave a thoughtful comment below the post.
• If a contact form is provided, fill it out carefully and respectfully.

If your message and profile align with the host’s needs, we’ll help facilitate the communication.

📌 Tip: Be polite, clear, and sincere in your introduction. A good message makes all the difference.

⚠️ Please note

Due to the high number of inquiries, or specific requirements from some hosts, not all messages may receive a reply.

This may happen when:

• The host has already selected their volunteers,
• The opportunity receives too many applications,
• The candidate doesn’t meet the project’s specific criteria.

We understand this can be disappointing, but please don’t take it personally. We encourage you to explore other opportunities and try again!
