Hello, I am Mayra Arguello. A few years ago I decided on an important change in my life. I went from selling industrialized products to producing organic products, in a sustainable way and in harmony with nature. In addition ‘El Reencuentro’ is a research farm that shares experiences and knowledge with the community of Palora We want to share our learnings in organic agriculture.

What’s the mission of your community? 🎯
Palora is currently the main producer of pitahaya, produced in a conventional manner. Our goal is to share with the community the experiences of organic production. Moving from monocultures to agroforestry production. Volunteers will be a support to keep the project organic. They will also be of help with training with the Palora community.

You can visit the town of Palora, know rivers, waterfalls, nature reserves, communities of the Amazon and other nearby cities such as Tena; Misagualli, etc.

Finca El Reencuentro is located in the Ecuadorian Amazon, 5 hours from the capital Quito, and 1 hour from the largest city in the Amazon, Puyo. The Finca is surrounded by Forest, with frequent rains, in a tropical area. We border the Pastaza River and are close to the town of Palora, which provides all the basic services.
How to get to your site ✈ 🗺
From the city of Quito, we can transfer you to Finca El Reencuentro directly, by car, time approx. 5 h. Another way to get there is by a direct bus connection from Quito. If you go by bus you will be picked up in Palora for a transfer for the last part to the Finca. All the roads to reach the destination are in perfect condition.
