This opportunity was shared in our slow travel volunteer Facebook community, and we’re happy to give it some extra visibility here. It’s especially interesting for anyone curious about natural building and hands-on, practical learning. As with many volunteer projects, details can change, so we always recommend checking the official channels and confirming conditions directly with the hosts.
Nadi is developing an earth building and permaculture project in Nichbisi, Georgia. The hosts describe a simple, community-based setup focused on learning by doing, using natural materials (earth, clay, straw and other local resources) and supporting day-to-day life on the land. According to the host’s info pack, volunteers stay on-site in a camping area and follow a clear rhythm that balances work, learning and rest. The suggested daily timetable includes two work sessions and shared meals, with two days off per week to rest or explore nearby cultural and nature spots.
The host materials describe camping accommodation and plant-based meals, but costs, deposits, and exact “what’s included” details can vary over time. Please confirm in writing: what meals are included every day, whether groceries are shared, if there is any contribution/deposit, what tools and safety equipment are provided for building tasks, and what a typical workday looks like in your date window.
What you may help with
Tasks depend on the season and the stage of the build. The hosts mention hands-on support with natural building (for example, cob mixing, adobe bricks, wattle and daub, lime plastering, earthen floors, insulation and rocket stove work), plus permaculture gardening (planting, mulching, composting and general maintenance). Community tasks can include cooking plant-based meals, cleaning and organising shared spaces, and sometimes photo/video documentation.
Accommodation and food (as described by the host)
Volunteers stay in a camping area on the land. The info pack mentions basic facilities (including an outdoor toilet, a simple kitchen and showers). Food is described as plant-based, seasonal and shared as part of community life. The host also states a substance-free environment (no alcohol or drugs).
Dates and duration
The host message says they welcome volunteers from April to the end of October. The info pack lists several “waves” (for example, early April, late April to mid-May, and early June), and notes that later summer/autumn dates may be announced separately. Please confirm your exact start and end dates directly with the hosts.

Volunteering opportunity in Georgia 🇬🇪
Earth building project
We will be receiving volunteers starting from April till the end of October. The exact dates are given in the info pack.
Our project in Nichbisi, Georgia is growing, and after a beautiful season with amazing volunteers, we’re looking for new people to join us during the season of 2026.
We are developing an earth building and permaculture project, working with natural materials like earth, clay, straw, and other local resources. Most of the help is currently needed with wall preparation, plastering, material mixing, and hands-on building work, as well as gardening and land care depending on the season.
We live and work together on the land in a simple, community-based way, following a holistic, plant-based lifestyle. We offer on-site camping accommodation, all meals included, hands-on learning, and two days off per week to rest or explore the area.
No experience needed — just motivation and openness to learn.
