Help trapโ€“neuterโ€“return cats on Kos island (Sept 15โ€“26, 2025)

Weโ€™re helping GASAH โ€“ Greek And Swiss Animal Help find skilled hands for their upcoming trap-neuter-return (TNR) weeks on Kos island, Greece, 15โ€“26 September 2025. If you already know how to catch community cats safely and calmly, this short, focused mission needs you.

The project

GASAH runs targeted TNR campaigns: catching free-roaming cats, transporting them to vets for sterilisation, and returning them to their home sites after recovery. The goal is straightforwardโ€”fewer unwanted litters and less sufferingโ€”and the work is practical, humane, and detail-oriented.

What the role involves

Youโ€™ll help set, watch, and cover humane traps, handle carriers, coordinate transport to the clinic, keep basic records, monitor post-op cats, and return them to the exact catch location in agreement with local caretakers. Expect early mornings or evening hours when cats are most active. Schedules and meeting points are arranged by the GASAH team on site.

Who theyโ€™re looking for

GASAH asks for previous experience catching cats (with traps or nets) and a calm approach with nervous animals. Patience, reliability, and teamwork matter more than anything. English is useful; Greek is a plus but not essential.

Practical notes

Accommodation, meals, and travel are not specified in the call – ask the team about logistics when you apply. Bring sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and any personal gear you prefer; trapping equipment is coordinated by GASAH.
