Fundación Territorial Shamuy is a non-profit community initiative based in the San Martín region of the Peruvian Amazon. We offer a cultural exchange and volunteer experience where participants contribute to documenting and promoting the work we do with local communities.

Mission 🎯

Our mission is to strengthen the visibility and impact of community-led projects in the Amazon through cultural exchange, audiovisual storytelling, and collaboration.

We seek volunteers who are eager to use their skills to support social change and intercultural understanding.

Volunteer requirements & Age restrictions  🔞

• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
• They should be committed, respectful of local customs, and willing to work collaboratively with the team and community members. We encourage responsible, sustainable living practices.

When we need help 📅

• Year-round.

From August to December, we are busier due to special events and programs, so additional help is especially valuable.

• Daily commitment: 4–5 hours ⏱
• Weekly rhythm: 4 days on, 3 days off 🌒

Geography 🌳

Tarapoto lies in the high jungle of the Peruvian Amazon, surrounded by green hills, waterfalls, and rivers. The climate is tropical warm–humid, with average temperatures from 20 °C to 32 °C year-round, and a rich biodiversity of native flora and fauna.

How to get here ✈ 🗺

Arrive in Lima (Peru). Then fly to Tarapoto, San Martín (about 1 h 40 m) or take a bus (about 22 h).
