International Village is a cultural‑language camp for teens aged 14–17 that’s been running since 2011, and it’s coming to Muszyna in southern Poland this September. Rather than a typical volunteer holiday or paid teaching job, it’s a lively cross‑cultural experience where participants speak English nearly all day, engage in creative workshops, and explore the outdoors with peers and native speakers. It’s organized by a small volunteer-led team behind internationalvillage.eu, who host three camps each summer across Europe—including Croatia, Slovakia, and now Poland. Their goal is simple: bring together teens from different countries and give them a week of English immersion through art, music, sports, and conversation with native speakers. Muszyna, close to the Slovak border, offers a scenic setting with a hotel that can host nearly 370 people and includes pools, sports facilities, and forested hillsides. In practice, International Village is run like a summer camp with structured language workshops in the morning, followed by fun afternoon and evening activities. Volunteers—called “Super Teachers”—aren’t required to have formal teaching experience; they’re there to lead dynamic games, foster conversations, and bring energy and personality to the group. The organizers even take care of flight costs, food, and lodging for the volunteers.
