If you’re passionate about teaching and cultural exchange, MENTORA, a small home-based school in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, is looking for English-speaking volunteers to join their community this September.
This opportunity is ideal for international travellers who would like to immerse themselves in local Indonesian culture while sharing their knowledge of the English language. Volunteers will assist with conversational English practice at the elementary, junior, or senior levels, depending on their skills and comfort.
The project is expected to begin mid-September 2025, with stays ranging from 1 to 2 months. While native English speakers are preferred, anyone with good English communication skills is welcome to apply.
About the host organisation
MENTORA is a small, independent English learning program based in Payakumbuh, a city in the West Sumatra province of Indonesia. The school operates with the aim of improving local students’ English conversation skills through interactive, real-life practice with fluent speakers. The initiative is led by Alkindi, B.Ed., an educator who believes in accessible, community-driven education. The environment is informal and welcoming, focused on building bridges between cultures through language learning.

An Educational volunteer opportunity is calling in Indonesia!
There is an educational volunteer opportunity for one person(male or female)who can speak English well in a home school which name is “MENTORA” with the location in Payakumbuh of West Sumatra province of Indonesia for 1 or 2 months stay to teach English at level of elementary, junior, senior or general people for English conversation practice.
Preferably an English native speaker.
The teaching English program is going to start at the middle of August, 2025. The detail location is in attachment photos below.
Facilities will be gotten by the volunteer:
-Free accomodation.
-Free meals three time daily.
-Extra money(allowance).
-Free WIFI.
-Free local transportation in the location of teaching but not include ticket flight, pasport and visa.
