Seeking Live-In Caretaker in New Zealand

New Zealand, caretaker, work exchange, retreat

Anahata Yoga Retreat is welcoming applications for two caretaker positions at its beautiful, off-grid property overlooking Abel Tasman National Park. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, value community living, and appreciate a mindful, eco-conscious lifestyle.

Caretakers support the retreat through general maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, regular checks on solar and water systems, and preparation of spaces for property viewings.

In exchange for approximately twenty hours of work per week, participants receive comfortable onsite accommodation with heating fuel included, access to pantry staples and fresh produce from the organic garden, pure spring water, internet access, use of the Yoga Temple for personal practice, and the wood-fired sauna. The retreat offers a serene, sustainable environment, free from light and noise pollution, surrounded by spectacular natural scenery.

  1. Hello,

I am interested in volunteering for your advertised opportunity. I am a 35-year-old male who’s work in hospitality, restaurant, client services, and yard maintenance. I have spent my life worrying about living paycheck to paycheck, thinking times would change and my feelings will accept what it is.

However, I am trying to make the change into what I always wanted out of life and volunteer work is exactly that. I hope with this opportunity I will learn from others on how to continue within the volunteer life, meeting others, traveling and finally feeling morally fulfilled.

I love meeting others and helping where I can, my age has taught me how to pick up tasks and lessons quickly, patience and genuine kindness.

I don’t have much and don’t need much, just a chance at the opportunity for something different and more meaningful.

    Thank you for your consideration.
