Chipembere Community Development Organisation (CCDO) is a woman, youth-led organization based in the southern region of Malawi. The organisation was formed in 2005 to promote interventions that build the well-being of underprivileged women, children and youth, through capacity development, advocacy and impact mitigation. Out interventions ranges from sexual reproductive health rights, girls’ education, women empowerment, and livelihood support program just to mention a few.

- from 1 volunteer up to 20.
When would you need volunteers? ð
From March 2023 – December 2023

- 4-5 hours of help per day

- 4 days of help per week – 3 days off
Note about the volunteer work and other expectations ð
We are looking for volunteers of all ages from around the world, who have prior knowledge of fundraising or connections for resources that might assist in improving the well-being of marginalized groups in Malawi, Thyolo and Mulanje. Volunteers who have a passion for charity work and those volunteers who have prior knowledge of the subjects mentioned above.

Volunteers’ benefits ðð
Volunteers will in return get benefits on cultural exchange. They will learn how African women live. Local fundraising mechanisms like gardening it’s what volunteers will benefit from us.
What to do in your free time ðīðĢðĶ
During free time volunteers will be able to socialize with the community, watch movies visit Thyolo Sports Club, and visit Mulanje Mountain and Majete Game reserve.
Volunteers will learn vernacular languages like Chichewa and Lhomwe.
Language ðĢðŽð§
There are no extra activities, but volunteers will have the liberty to visit and appreciate early childhood development centre and or visit elderly houses and visit our previous projects in Mulanje and Thyolo
Geography ðģ
Thyolo district has got weather suits for volunteers, for previous years we have been hosting volunteers from USA and UK who liked our weather.
How to get to your site â ðš
Our volunteers will get to our site through an Organization vehicle . The volunteer will be welcome from Chileka International Airport in Blantyre. CCDO is situated at Bvumbwe Post Office, along Mulanje Thyolo road.CCDO is five kilometres away from Blantyre City, the commercial City of Malawi.
