Care in Action NGO volunteer program in Kitale, Kenya

This project is in Kitale, a highland town in western Kenya, where Care In Action runs an orphanage home and nursery school for vulnerable children. Volunteers support agriculture, conservation, construction, teaching, fundraising, healthcare and women and youth empowerment, usually helping around 4–5 hours a day for 4 days a week. Food and simple accommodation are included and there are no program fees, while volunteers cover their travel and personal costs. The experience is community based and rural, with chances to learn Swahili, local cooking and crafts and to visit nearby markets, hills and national parks in free time.
