Conservation in Paradise

At SORCE, we believe passionate individuals can create lasting change. Nestled in the Secret Gilis of Lombok, our mission is to protect and restore vibrant marine ecosystems. Weโ€™re not just explorersโ€”weโ€™re guardians of the ocean, committed to preserving its beauty and diversity.
Our Eco-Venture Expedition is more than an adventure; itโ€™s a transformative journey into the heart of marine conservation. Immerse yourself in the underwater world, where you’ll explore coral reefs, swim among vibrant fish, discover the intricate lives of invertebrates, and master the art of turtle identification. Our comprehensive lectures will equip you with the knowledge to understand marine ecosystems, identify key species, and contribute effectively to conservation efforts.
Guided by expert marine scientists, youโ€™ll gain hands-on experience in restoration techniques, learning about the incredible biodiversity beneath the waves. No prior experience is neededโ€”just bring your passion, and weโ€™ll teach you everything you need to know to help safeguard our reefs.

Program Impact

The heart of our mission is the development of sustainable, community-driven approaches to marine conservation. We work tirelessly to protect and restore marine ecosystems, encouraging a culture of ecological awareness that resonates locally and globally. Through a combination of research, conservation, education, scientific initiatives and public engagement, we ensure that our efforts create long-lasting, meaningful change.

Our strong partnerships with grassroots organisations and local governments empower us to make a real difference. By collaborating with government officials, we are playing a crucial role in the designation and optimisation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), ensuring they are effectively safeguarding marine biodiversity. Additionally, we guide the growing tourism industry in the Secret Gilis towards sustainable eco-tourism, balancing development with environmental stewardship.
With the support of our dedicated eco-expeditionists, we are steadfast in our commitment to preserving and restoring our marine ecosystems.

Our goal is to nurture healthy, productive ecosystems that benefit local communities, stakeholders, and future generations.
