What is eco-building? 🧱🌱
Eco-building, green building and sustainable building are broad terms for approaches intended to reduce the environmental impacts of buildings across areas such as materials, energy, water, waste, design and long-term use. On Voluntouring, this tag should be used when an environmental approach to construction or renovation is genuinely part of the project. Natural materials alone do not automatically make a building sustainable.
Eco-building and natural building
Natural building focuses particularly on materials and techniques such as earth, clay, straw, cob, adobe, timber, bamboo or natural plasters. Eco-building is broader and can also involve passive design, energy efficiency, water conservation, reused materials and other measures intended to reduce building impacts.
A project may therefore belong to both archives when both elements are genuinely present.

Eco-building is still construction work.
