Seicas is an agroecological farm project in El Quinche, near Quito, Ecuador. If you are interested in agroecology and would like to learn by working on an agroecological farm, this placement might suit you. Volunteers help mainly in the fields and around the farm while learning about sustainable agriculture and local food systems.
We look for people who love to work in contact with nature, are not deterred by the idea of physically demanding field work, and are curious about innovative techniques in agroecology and permaculture.
Requirements
- Age: 18+ years
- Physical ability to do demanding field work
- Willing to work under different and occasionally adverse weather conditions
๐ Main tasks
- Participate in farm activities such as sowing, weeding and harvesting
- Support the direct commercialization of products (farmer to consumer)
๐ What we offer
- Lodging with a shared kitchen and large living space
- Comfortable beds
- Open access to farm products for your personal consumption (within reason)
๐ Location
The farm is located in El Quinche, Ecuador, about 2 hours by bus or 1 hour by car north of Quito.
