Volunteer programs in Namibia… for independent travellers!

Some of these volunteer opportunities are free, offering food and accommodation in exchange for your voluntary work. Others require a daily or monthly contribution fee for food and lodging. Keep in mind that many regions in Namibia are still developing, so volunteering isn’t always free.

If you’re looking to make an impact but only have a few weeks to volunteer abroad, we recommend considering the non-free opportunities. By choosing these, you’ll support the community not only with your skills but also financially—especially beneficial if you’re only able to volunteer for a short period. This approach is often a better alternative to staying at a hotel or a tourist resort owned by foreign agencies.

This means all your contributions go directly to the NGOs, supporting both them and your stay in Namibia.
