Volunteer in Lombok, Indonesia with School in Paradise – teach English, enjoy island life, and make a real impact. Meals and stay included.
This opportunity was originally shared in our Voluntouring Facebook group and comes from Škola v ráji – also known as School in Paradise, a grassroots education project based on the tropical island of Lombok, Indonesia.
The project welcomes volunteers from around the world who want to help local children improve their English skills. You don’t need to be a professional teacher. What matters is that you speak English well (at least B1 level), and that you’re patient, kind, and open to learning. Volunteers are guided and supported by the local team, and the experience is framed more as a cultural exchange than formal education.
School in Paradise believes that learning opens doors – especially in under-resourced areas where English can be a powerful tool for future opportunities. Classes are held in a small local school setting, and the schedule is flexible enough to allow you to explore the island, connect with the local community, and recharge under the palm trees between lessons.
In return for your help, you’ll receive accommodation, meals, and the chance to build authentic friendships while living just a short ride from beautiful beaches. You’ll need to commit to at least two weeks, though staying longer is encouraged if you want to truly immerse yourself.
If you’ve ever dreamed of meaningful travel, this project might be the sign you’ve been waiting for.
Past volunteers describe their time there as life-changing, eye-opening, and deeply human. 🌞
