Rural development through education, employment, and empowerment of girls and women. Volunteers are helpful for the girls to experience outside cultures, build communication skills, and learn more about the world.

Any time! But summer is quite hot, so unless they are suited for the climate, Sept-May is best.

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations 📝

We operate on a normal Mon-Fri school day. Weekends and evenings are free. English teachers are expected to help daily in class. They can take breaks or free time during the day if desired.

Volunteers’ benefits 🏆🏅

Volunteers get to learn about how organisations and education opportunities for women truly change society. There are many opportunities to learn and practice your Hindi with the other teachers and girls. You get to experience Indian culture and participate in things such as “Aarti” because this school is in the town right along the Ganges River! If you are there during any holiday, you will be sure to be included in the celebrations.

What are the available activities during free time? 🚴🚣🦒

While we don’t recommend women to leave the school campus on their own, if there are multiple volunteers or if they are accompanied by a local, they can go to the local town, see the Ganges. We can arrange for transportation to and a stay in Delhi where they are able to explore on their own.

Geography 🌳

This is rural India. In the winter, it is cold, and in the summer, it is hot. The housing is comfortable but basic, so volunteers need to be prepared for the climate.

How to get to your site ✈ 🗺

Volunteers are responsible for their airfare, but we will pick them up from the airport, provide a stay in Delhi and a driver will take them to the school in Anupshahr.
