This collage shows what a typical cleanup day with In The Same Boat in Norway can look like.
Volunteers land on small remote islands and start collecting everything from ghost fishing nets and ropes to plastic bottles, sandals, buoys and broken boxes. The photos show big piles of sorted marine litter laid out on the rocky ground, ready to be loaded onto the cleanup boat. You can also see some of the volunteers sitting beside the trash they have collected, proud and tired after hours of work in the fresh coastal air. At the bottom of the collage there are pictures of the sailing boat and a peaceful sunset, reminding everyone why this work is so important. By joining the In The Same Boat volunteer sailing program, travellers help protect the ocean, learn about plastic pollution and enjoy Norwayโs wild, beautiful coastline at the same time.
