Help build a better future for children in Uganda: support St Mary Immaculate Villa Maria Primary School
Uganda school fundraising can start with just one message of hope.
In a heartfelt email from Uganda, Rev. Sister Nancy Monchari, head teacher of St Mary Immaculate Villa Maria Primary School, reached out to us with a humble request. Located in Kalungu district, Masaka diocese, this non-profit, government-aided Catholic school was founded in 1910 by the โwhite sistersโ with a visionary mission: to educate the girl child in Uganda.
Over a century later, the school continues to serve the community with devotion, now welcoming over 700 pupils, including many social and total orphans. But the facilities, some of which date back to 1910, are no longer suitable for a safe and dignified learning environment.
Their request?
Support to renovate the old classroom blocks and to construct new ones, creating better conditions for teaching and learning.
Currently, some students are using borrowed hospital buildings due to a lack of space. The school is seeking funds to build five new classrooms and renovate the older ones.
How you can help
St Mary Immaculate Villa Maria Primary School has provided documentation verifying its status, including:
- A recommendation from the Kalungu District Local Government
- A safeguarding commitment signed by the Masaka Diocese
- Government registration under EMIS code 005709
If you are interested in supporting this project, or if you know an organisation or individual who might be able to help, please contact the school at stimmaculate1910@gmail.com . They will provide you with the verified bank details to ensure your donation reaches the school directly.
Past fundraising successes
Thanks to support from organisations in Spain, the USA, and local parents, the school has already achieved:
- A perimeter security wall (partially completed)
- Water tanks and toilets for students
- Sponsorships for vulnerable children
- A nursery block
- A male dormitory (under construction)
Voluntouring.org cannot currently offer direct financial aid, but we believe in amplifying voices like Sister Nancyโs. This Uganda school fundraising campaign is one way we can all contribute to lasting impact. Together, we can help give these children a stronger foundation โ both literally and figuratively โ for a brighter future.
