Critter Care Wildlife Society (CCWS) is a non-profit organization based in Langley, British Columbia, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned native mammal species in the region. Established in 1984, CCWS has been instrumental in providing specialized care to over 3,000 animals annually, ensuring they receive the necessary attention to return to their natural habitats.
The society operates as the only facility in BC specializing exclusively in mammal care and is one of just three bear rehabilitation centres in the province. Their expertise encompasses a wide range of native mammals, including black bear cubs, river otters, raccoons, beavers, skunks, and more.
CCWS community-based education programs
In addition to wildlife rehabilitation, CCWS actively engages in community-based education programs aimed at fostering coexistence between humans and wildlife.
They offer internships and volunteer opportunities, to allow individuals to gain hands-on experience in wildlife care and contribute to conservation efforts.
For those interested in supporting their mission, CCWS provides various avenues for involvement, including
- donations,
- volunteering,
- participation in educational initiatives.
Their official website offers detailed information on how to get involved and make a positive impact on local wildlife.
