A Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus). This species is easily recognizable by its black crest, white cheeks, and distinctive red patch (or “whiskers”) near the eyes. It also has a brownish body with a white underbelly and a red patch under its tail. The Red-whiskered Bulbul is commonly found in gardens, forests, and urban areas across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is known for its melodious calls and active, social behavior.
