La Tortuga Viva (LTV), officially known as “Association Civil Campamento Tortuguero Playa Icacos,” is a non-profit conservation organization established in 2010, dedicated to repopulating threatened sea turtle species nesting on Playa Icacos in Guerrero, Mexico. Since its inception, LTV has released over 500,000 baby sea turtles, working closely with the local community of Juluchuca to relocate vulnerable nests into their sanctuary for incubation and subsequent release into the ocean.
