Dogsitter wanted in Portugal! â Hi, we are Laura and Miguel, and we have six dogs and two cats! Miguel is a lawyer and a university teacher, and Laura has a tourism eco-project! We live near Sobral de Monte Agraço, which is in the district of Lisbon, and we have full-time jobs, so we need help with our home and furry family. We are currently *hiring* for one person for the position of Live-In Housekeeper & Dog Caretaker in Sobral de Monte Agraço, district of Lisbon
There are 2 main responsibilities:
- 1) House care – daily house cleaning. With six dogs and two cats, we have lots of hair and dust everywhere. We need daily cleaning, vacuuming, washing clothes, making beds, general tidying around and some cooking.
- 2) Dog (and cat) care – We have 6 dogs with lots of energy and demanding lots of attention and love, caring for them, sitting when we are not at home (or when we are working from home), checking if they have water, food, ticks, if they lost their collars.
Who are we looking for?
- We are looking for someone with experience living with dogs & cats – *this is essential*
- You also need to have experience cleaning houses
- need to be proactive & communicative
- You can speak English or Portuguese or Spanish
We need someone to start as soon as possible. The minimum stay is 6 months.
Skills needed
Cleaning skills, cooking skills, and experience with dogs and cats

We both have full-time jobs and we have been rescuing animals for the past 10 years ð we need help with our home and with our dogs and cats
This position is available for only one person

5 days per week – 2 days off

Volunteers’ benefits ðð What do you get?
- Salary + lodging (private room)+ all bills paid + all meals + 2 weekly days off+ 22 days vacations yearly
- Hours: We request 8 daily hours 5 days per week.
- Starting time can vary and can be adjusted, as well as the days off.

You can get to Lisbon by bus or car and explore our capital. We are also 30m away from the beaches near Ericeira. This region has a lot to offer ð

Typical Mediterranean weather, our home is a mix of countryside and village – we live 5 minutes away from a countryside little village with all the services. This is still Lisbon’s district – we are 30min drive from Lisbon’s centre, and there is also a bus that takes you there.
The village has all services – supermarkets, coffee places, restaurants, pharmacies, post office, local commerce, local market, etc.
Just outside our door, there is a small forest where we usually walk our dogs, it is quite peaceful around here.
