Nepal volunteer exchange – Urgent call for adventurous librarians for a once in a lifetime experience! Do you have 2-12 weeks of free time between March and December 2020?
Would you like to volunteer in our brand new Himalayan library in Nepal?
Information
We have just built the very first library and school resource center in the mountainous region of Rasuwa in Nepal. Volunteers with some experience are required to help set up the community library (proper cataloguing, classification and indexing of books) and teach a local member of staff (and novice) the basics of how to run the library.
Nepal volunteer exchange
No costs incurred (except transport at your own expense), food and accommodation is provided.
The library is situated close to the Langtang national park so many opportunities to go trekking.
Mission
We believe that every child has the same right, to have access to books and the possibility to learn about the world. Our mission, in conjunction with a grassroots organisation in loco (HHCP Nepal), is to empower marginalised communities in the Rasuwa region of Nepal and improve the quality of life through advancing education. We intend to do this by building the very first library/ resource centre to supply books to the surrounding schools.
