Volunteering opportunities in Nepal – Nepal is a country between India and Tibet known for its temples and the Himalayan mountain range, home to Mount Everest. The capital Kathmandu is famous for its labyrinthine historic district, full of Hindu and Buddhist shrines. In the valley around Kathmandu is the Buddhist temple Swayambhunath, otherwise known as the monkey temple. Worthy of a visit:

the Boudhanath, a giant Buddhist stupa,
Hindu temples,
the cremation grounds of the Pashupatinath temple
and the medieval city of Bhaktapur.

Since Nepal is a developing country, some organizations might ask you to pay a daily/monthly contribution to cover your stay. Voluntouring is not an intermediation agency so we don’t take any intermediation fees and we don’t act on the part of the organizations/hosts.

Note: Volunteer projects in Nepal that are free usually don’t cover transportation (flight tickets), VISAS, or other extra expenses.
