Nepal has specific immigration and work rules for foreign visitors. The Nepal Department of Immigration states that foreign nationals accepting employment or work require an appropriate Working Visa.

Conditions vary by host. and structured activities with NGOs, schools or other organisations can involve different circumstances, so do not assume that tourist status automatically permits the activities described in a listing. Ask the host what arrangement applies and verify the current requirements independently with the Nepal Department of Immigration.
Mountains, transport and local conditions
Some projects are located in rural or mountainous areas where transport, communications and access to medical services can be limited. Weather, flooding, landslides and road conditions can also affect travel, particularly during the monsoon season.
If your stay includes trekking or activities at altitude, check current permits, guide requirements, weather conditions and insurance coverage. Mountain rescue and evacuation can be expensive, so make sure your insurance covers the locations and activities involved.
